    Today’s Verse:

“Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.” –2 Corinthians 5:20

    Today’s Encouragement:

I love this quote by D.L. Moody: “Out of one hundred men, one will read the Bible, the other 99 will read the Christian.”

God has called each and every Christian to re-present Him to the World. So much so that Scripture calls us “ambassadors for Christ” in 2 Corinthians 5:20.

An ambassador is an official representative who goes to a distant land on behalf of a king, nation, or country. Ambassadors go out and act on behalf of the King, many times promoting His agenda or working on His behalf. They also carry His authority as an official representative.

I love that Scripture uses this language because it is exactly how things are in the Body of Christ. All Christians represent Christ wherever they go. We have the unique ability to shine brightly and bring honor to His name or to mis-represent Him and paint an inaccurate picture of Him.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to misrepresent my Lord Jesus Christ. I believe that many people have no interest in wanting to “become a Christian” because the Christians they have met, have given Christianity a bad name. They have mis-represented Him or what it means to follow Christ.

Let’s strive to be good ambassadors who walk in love, who put on the fruit of the Spirit, and who seek to honor the King in all we do.

    Today’s Prayer:

Lord Jesus, please help me see the areas in my life where I do not represent you well. Help me to shine brightly today and put others first. My heart is to serve you every day of my life. Help me to honor you today. When people see me, I pray they see you. In your holy name Lord Jesus, amen.
